Agents of MAGIC – Hogwarts Year 5: Between Trust and Deception 5.10

Céilidh year 6 avie1It was an unseasonably warm February morning. No matter how much warmer it was there was still snow covering the grounds. Tom shivered slightly as he stepped out of Greenhouse two and pulled his coat on, “Bloody hell I hate that.”

Tatiana giggled as she slipped her cold hand into his, “Hate what?”

“Walking out of the nice warm greenhouse and into the cold of winter,” Tom smiled at her as he squeezed her hand slightly in his.

“Well then,” the girl smiled wickedly as the two started walking toward the castle, “Let’s get you inside before you start crying.”

Tom shot Tatiana a sideways glance, “You’re still getting me back for Valentine’s Day aren’t you?”

Tatiana nodded her head, “And for a little while still.” She stuck her tongue out at him.

“But that wasn’t my fault,” Tom played along, whi...

Hogwarts-CrestLaun paced back and forth in the Slytherin common room, “It makes absolute sense,” he muttered, “It has to be the house elves. It’s the only possibility that makes sense!”

“Talking to yourself again, Laun? They make a potion to cure that you know.” The petite redhead sat down in a plush chair just to the right of her fellow Slytherin. It wasn’t out of the ordinary to see Laun talking to himself, but Dee still liked to give him a hard time about it.

Laun gave Dee a large smile, “Of course I’m not talking to myself,” he winked, “I have you here. And now that you are,” he continued with out letting her interject, “I need your help.”

Dee shook her head. “Oh really? With what pray tell?”

“I have decided to go interrogate the house elves...

Nicolette year 6 avie1White tipped nails drummed against the desk as Nicolette stared at Laun sitting across from her. “What am I going to do with you?” She had promised Orlando that she would break the curse on him. She only hoped that he either wouldn’t remember or that he was in a very forgiving mood when he came out of it.

Laun gave a look of mild confusion. It tilted his head to the side almost mechanically. “What would you like to do with me?” He folded his hands on the table. “Would you,” he paused and looke off in concentrated thought, “like me to surprise you?”

“You could snap out of it.” She sighed, waving his inevitable questions off. “No, nevermind, forget I said that.” Picking up her wand, Nic cringed as she pointed it at him. “Finite Incantatum.” Her cool eyes watched for a reaction.

The charmed S...

Orlando year 6 avie1At ten minutes before their usual tutoring session, Nicolette was not expecting Orlando for another twenty. Looking into the mirror on the wall facing away from the door, she adjusted the curls that rested loosely on her shoulders for what was likely the thirtieth time. Her arbitrary lesson plan lay, forgotten, on one of the front desks while she fretted over her looks, fully aware of how foolish she was being. Monday afternoons were beginning to be her favorite time of the week.

Orlando’s slipped into the room almost soundlessly, easing the door closed behind him. He knew he was early, and he knew how crazy that sounded. Orlando MacFoozle early for a lesson of any sort was just mind boggling, even to him...

Rose year 6 avie1The Valentine’s Day euphoria seemed to linger in the halls. Tho February had 15 dawned as gray and unpleasant as any early spring day, the smiles that flashed back and forth between tables and across the great hall served to remind everyone that yesterday had been a thoroughly romantic day. However, the mood in the hospital wing was strikingly less blissful.

Bohdan VanMorey, the sixth year Hufflepuff prefect and student who had found the injured pair, shook his head as he left Madame Pomfrey’s company. Running his fingers through the blond curls that his mother said made him look so angelic but he secretly loathed, he began to walk back towards his common room. Of course the common room had been anything but relaxing lately, hard feelings and suspicions seemed to taint the very air...

Nicolette year 6 avie1It was cold in the owlry but Nicolette was beginning to find a strange comfort in the cold. She stroked the soft outer feathers on Nisroc’s head. “How uncomplicated, the life of an owl.” She held her hand up, offering the creature a glove full of birdseed. “Back and forth between homes, delivering letters.” A white sigh billowed from her lips. “I’m jealous.”

The sound of someone clearing his throat behind her made Nicolette jump. She turned around to see her cousin Tom standing in the doorway. “Hey,” he said as he walked over the threshold and into the owlery.

“Hi Tommy.” The Ravenclaw set Nisroc free out the window, off to send her message to her mother.

Tom crossed the room to his own owl...

Céilidh year 6 avie1Always enjoying the pain of others, even those she considered friends, Mariella could barely contain herself as she strolled into the library. She knew she would find her target studying away as she often did. Sure enough, behind a copy of Breaking the Curse sat just the raven haired girl she was looking for. “Oh Nicolette.” Her smile was wicked and cruel. “Exactly who I was looking for. I have some shocking news.” She waited for the other girl to give her full attention.

“What do you want, Ella?” Nicolette was becoming weary of the Slytherin’s drama causing and hoped she would go away. “Can’t you see I’m busy?”

Holding the paper she had as if it had some tangible value, she continued to bother the Ravenclaw. “Oh, I think you will want to hear about this.” She knew how to trap her prey...

Tommy year 6 avie1The cold February morning wind bit against Tom’s face as he walked out onto the quidditch pitch. Dawn hadn’t truly even broken yet, as his feet crunched through last night’s snowfall. Behind him, the trunk that held Gryffindor’s practice quidditch balls floated out onto the pitch as well and settled with a wet thud in front of the goals on the southern side of the pitch. He took in a deep breath and watched the exhaled air fly up and dissipate into the lightening morning sky. He stood in the snow and stared at the trunk with his mahogany wand twirling quickly in and out of the fingers of his right hand.

The young Gryffindor closed his eyes for a moment. This had been a very long weekend. He thought back to the day before, and what the Sanderford twins had done to him...

Orlando year 6 avie1Orlando kept a firm hold on Nicolette’s hand as he lead her through the dark underground tunnel that lead from the castle grounds into the kitchen. He kept her close to him, knowing that before long he would have to let her go and they would part public company. But until that moment arrived, he would relish every bit of their closeness. He looked back over his shoulder to her, smiling. “Awmaist thare.” Even in the dark, her silvery eyes shimmered like a pair of pensives that had opened up, finally allowing their secrets to be revealed.

“How did you know about this?” asked the raven haired Ravenclaw, tentatively examining their rather dank and, to say the least, dirty surroundings.

“Hogwarts haes a heap o saicrets, hen,” he replied...

Hogwarts-CrestDespite a few minor setbacks like a Love Potioned Tommy and the still quite cold February weather, nothing could keep this Valentine’s Day from being anything less than a cause for complete celebration. Born on February 14, Ambrosia Inamorata Sheridan already had many reasons to love the holiday but this year was special. This year she would remember for all time as her first Valentine’s/Birthday with a boyfriend.

Pausing to check her reflection one more time, to make sure her distraction with helping save Tommy and Tati’s day hadn’t interfered with her plan to look as perfect as possible for Bobby, she bounded down the steps of the Ravenclaw tower to find her date...
