AGENTS OF MAGIC – HOGWARTS YEAR 5: FRIENDS AND OTHER STRANGERS 1.78

Hogwarts-CrestDierdre played with her wand as the noisy class took it’s sweet magical time calming down enough for Professor Quirrel to speak without raising his voice at all. She used it to flip randomly through her muggle studies text, stopping on any photograph or word that caught her eye as interesting. “Airplanes just look so clunky to actually fly through the air.” She said aloud to no one in particular.

“You’re not wrong there Dee,” Aeryn smiled, looking over from her own textbook which was open on a page about Toasters and their apparent use in attempting to kill slices of bread.

“Well of course I’m not. I’m rarely wrong.” Dierdre gave a glance and a smirk at the Gryffindor and then flipped again to a different interesting subject while the stuttering professor continued his lecture.

Aeryn chuck...

Céilidh year 6 avie1The common room had long since emptied and the Gryffindor dormitory had fallen silent. The whirlwind of the night’s activities had run its course and blown itself out leaving only the slightest breezes of memory to mark its passing. For everyone, that is, save Céilidh MacAllister. Certainly winds of rumor would pick up again in the morning, the student body whispering this and that, speculating, proselytizing, and prophesying the fallout. By the end of the first class, Céilidh was positive that the incident will have grown from blowing up the prefect’s bath, to blowing up a whole wing of the castle – despite the obvious evidence to the contrary.

Céilidh tossed and turned, finally settling on her back only to stare for what seemed like hours at the fabric of the canopy above...

Tommy year 6 avie1The Gryffindor common room was nearly empty. After the chaos of the evening, most of the Gryffindors had gone to bed early. Tom, Aeryn, Céilidh and Cecelia on the other hand, were still wide awake. The four of sat in silence, Tom in the large, squishy arm chair closest to the fire, while Céilidh sat on the couch right next to him, and Cecelia sat on the rug in front of the fire. Aeryn sat on the floor between Tom’s legs. They sat in silence for nearly an hour before Cecelia finally spoke, “Do you think their going to be okay?”

“Don’ ye worry now Cissy darlin’, Dan and Fooze’ll make out fine. Those two always land on their feet.”

Cecelia turned around to face the other two, “You really think they didn’t do it?”

“Nae fir a moment lassie.”

“Not for a million years.”

“What about you Tommy?”

Hogwarts-Crest“What a load of…”

“Belle! Yuir still a young lady, watch your tone”

Belinda looked up from the barrel of giant grubs that she, Charlie Weasley and Hagrid were preparing for Professor Sprout so they could be fed to the venomous tentacula.

“Hagrid, Dan and Fooze did not blow up a bathroom! Snape is acting like a daft…”

“Belinda!”

“Prat!” Charlie said, finishing the elder girl’s sentence.

“Lissen, I ‘preciate you two always comin’ down here to help me out, but Professor “Snape is still a teacher and I won’t have you disrespecting him in my home.”

“Fine,” said Belle resignedly as she threw a grub into the barrel with a little too much force, causing it to burst like a water balloon.

Trying his best to change the subject, Charlie stood up between Belle and ...

Laun year 6 avieLaun had a lot of thinking to do, this was a big mystery and he was in full detective mode now and he was a tad overwhelmed but very excited. It was times like this that an invisible cloak or a Notice-Me Knot would come in handy. He would need some kind of spy gear, and he knew the perfect place to find some; he had to raid the office of Argus Filch. He would meet up with Sam later, she didn’t want any part of what she knew would be a troublesome and potentially punishment worth endeavor. He knew it would be risky but he also knew it would be a goldmine if he could pull it off. He just needed the perfect patsy; there was never any doubt in his mind of who it should be. It was easy enough to get some of Rufus’ clothes, they did live in the same dorm after all; and Rufus was a gigantic slob...

Nicolette year 6 avie1Nicolette tapped her teeth with her thumbnail as she stood before the entrance to the Ravenclaw dorms. The eagle looked at her, waiting for her answer. “Fluxweed?” The eagle nodded and the door swung open. The dark haired girl strolled in and sighed at the state of the intellectual’s common room. She nabbed the pile of romance novels that had taken up residence on the table next to the most comfortable chair in the room. It was no mystery as to where these belonged. She flipped through the covers and snickered at a few of the titles, tucking one under her arm for later. She opened the door to the dorms and stepped inside, her eyes busy scanning the cover of “More Than Magic”.

Ambrosia heard the light footsteps as her housemate entered the room...

Hogwarts-CrestForster hated to leave Bobby in a lurch like that, but he wasn’t about to hand the book back in before studying the relevant bits. And that left only the safety of his room. No sooner than leaving the library, he heard third hand tale of the bathroom explosion. Taking a restricted area book on a investigation/manhunt was a surefire way to get it lost and he was sure he’d get kicked out if that happened. Plus he didn’t want it to get out hat he had the book, he had too many well meaning friends who would want to peruse it’s pages, and since they weren’t the ones who had gotten permission to check it out…

On his way, he managed to gather most of the information on hand. He shook his head with a slight smile and wondered if all the big duties of the year were going to involve Dan and Fooze.

A...

Hogwarts-CrestMadame Pince glared at the note handed to her by the prefect, “This is irregular, Madame Pomfrey isn’t technically a teacher.”

Forster Barclay smoothed his hair back and brushed his locke behind his ear. “I don’t mean to be rude, but at the same point neither are you. However, like you she is a trusted and necessary part of the staff. It’s no secret that I’m aspiring to be a healer after I graduate. But in order to do that I need some practice with concocting healing droughts that aren’t covered in this year of Potions. And since Most Potente Potions has been checked out, Toxins and Toniques is my only other option. I was under the impression that given the situation, it would be allowed.”

Pince looked at the notes in her hand and back at the prefect...

Orlando year 6 avie1Foozle sped past the painting of the Knight of Cumberland and right through Nearly Headless Nick. He yanked the folded piece of parchment from his robes. “A bet Danny wishes he had his hands on ye.” He tapped his wand against it, looking all about him for anybody who might be watching. He nearly laid out a herd of first year Ravenclaws. “A solemnly swear that A am up to nae good.” Once again, the ink bled out across the page into the layout of Hogwarts Castle. His eyes ran up and down the map.”DannyDannyDannyDanny. Whaur in hecklebirnie ar y-” Just then he felt a jingling in his pocket. With his wand pinned in his armpit he dug the knut out. “Goamins!” He stuffed the little coin into his ear.”Danny?”

Clear as day, Dan DuMorne’s voice rang in his ear. “Fooze!”

There was a brief pause, befor...

Laun year 6 avie“This is very exciting.” Laun grinned as he looked around a corner while the girls walked up behind him.”I have so many theories already as to the true mastermind here.” Laun said sprinting around the corner.

“Like what Laun?”

“My current working theory: Moaning Myrtle.” He paused for a moment, for emphasis, and than continued, “I think she has moved past misery into true madness and is now systematically destroying all the other bathrooms out of jealousy!” He shouted dramatically.

Cecelia snorted with laughter, “First of all, you can’t be serious, secondly how do you know about Myrtle?”

“It’s a long story and I don’t come off real well in it, let’s just say I am familiar with her.” He said shaking his head in shame.

“Come on…you can tell us.” Deirdre prodded.

“Well it’s a horrible st...
