AGENTS OF MAGIC – HOGWARTS YEAR 5: FRIENDS AND OTHER STRANGERS 1.46

Hogwarts-CrestThe light from the fire was beginning to die down as the last group of Gryffindors yawned their goodnights and started sluggishly up the stairs towards their dorms. Tom, Aeryn and Cecelia were the only ones left, sat in the three armchairs around the fire.

“I’m going to head out too,” Tom yawned. He gave Cecelia a little hug and started off towards the stairs himself.

“What? No hug for me?” Aeryn mockingly asked, giving puppy eyes.

Tom smiled wearily and shot the blonde gryffindor a wink as he started up the stairs. When she was certain Tom was out of earshot, Aeryn leaned in closer to Cecelia.

“So Cissy. I heard you had a little bit of fun on the train today,” Aeryn smiled as she took a sip from her mug of Hot Chocolate. Cecelia blushed a little...

Hogwarts-Crest“Crumb, Gideon,” Professor McGonagall called out as she stood in front of the faculty table next to the familiar stool holding the sorting hat. A portly brown headed boy walked nervously toward the stool and sat down. Professor McGonagall placed the tattered old hat on the boys head. The the entire room watched silently as the hat contorted as if thinking until it finally yelled out…

“Hufflepuff!!!!”

The Hufflepuff table exploded into applause and cheers as Gideon joined them.

“Just place the little kids already, I’m starving.” Belle glanced at the first year seated next to her. “No offense Gideon, but I’m wasting away here.”

“Belle, the sorting’s important,” chided Forster.

“So is sustenance. I haven’t had anything to eat today other than a couple of doughnuts.”

“Your dad bought breakfa...

Céilidh year 6 avie1“MacAllister,” Melissa Upton called out as Céilidh stepped from the car, “I need you to help escort the first years across the lake.”

“Uh, sure Mel, no problem,” Cee replied. She stole a glance at the rest of her friends as they made their way toward the carriages, a look that was not missed by the Head Girl.

“Sorry, Cee,” Mel said, clapping her on the shoulder, “I know it’s a suck duty, but I really need your help on this one.”

Céilidh shrugged and gave Mel a half-smile and headed off to the sound of Hagrid’s booming voice calling for all the first year students to gather around him. The wide-eyes youths clustered about the gigantic man in awed silence. “Now don’ be worry’n aboot yer bags, they’ll be makin’ their way to the castle their own way...

Hogwarts-Crest
Belle set the three-quarters full bucket on the floor of the carriage in front of Eric. The odd slug was still squeezing through his lips but the worse of it seemed to have passed.

“Rufus is a dead man.”

“I’m not…. I’m not sure it was…. Bleeeeech… him,” gasped Eric as another six inch long slug oozed from his mouth. “I never saw… I never saw who zapped me.”

“It was him Eric. We both know it.”

“Don’t’… get yourself into trouble for me Belle.”

“It’s not for you Eric. It’s for everyone here. He’s a menace and has to be taught a lesson.”

Belle reached over and put a comforting hand on Eric’s shoulder, then slipped the golden snitch into Eric’s pocket.

“What would you do to him anyways Belle,” asked Cass...

Rose year 6 avie1Dierdre stood in the doorway of the last car, making sure the rest of the younger students got off and made their way to the right carriages. First year seem like such a lifetime ago now that she found it difficult to relate to ones this young and new to wizarding anymore. Maybe being a prefect would help her out with that.

She finally exited after the last child and grabbed her suitcase and cloak before turning to find the prefect carriages. Already she could tell, from the commotion on the train earlier, that this was going to be an interesting year at the ancient school of magic. Her blue eyes scanned for Rose, hoping to ride with her to Hogwarts.

After a moment or so she spotted the familiar head of golden hair, way at the back of the station and hurried over to her...

Laun year 6 avieLaun sat back in the carriage still enjoying some of the sweets he had bought off the train. Sam jumped on just before the carriage took off. He noticed she had an odd look on her face as she sat down next to him. Laun non-verbally offered her some of the sweets, holding some of them out to her. She showed no sign of noticing this gesture.

“Hey Sammers… is something wrong?” He asked popping a meatloaf flavored every flavor bean in his mouth. Her eyes flickered from the candy to his face.

“Men. You lot SUCK.”

“Wow, okay it’s gonna be one of those discussions. Are we talking about any man in particular or are we all pigs again?” He said now munching on a pumpkin pasty.

“Both,” she muttered viciously, grabbing a licorice wand and biting into it ferociously.

“Tell me of your tro...

Rose year 6 avie1Belinda had just began to move away from Charlie’s compartment, his golden snitch clutched in her hand as her name was called out by two people moving quickly towards her – Cassidy and Ambrosia.

““Hey there. How is the ride treating you so far? I figure we should be pulling into Hogsmeade right…”

Belle paused as she noticed the concerned look on the duo’s faces.

““What’s wrong?”

“Belle, don’t you usually ride with Eric?”

““Always, the only way I can make sure he arrives to Hogwarts without being transmogrified into a tea cozy before school even starts. I just left him for a few minutes to get something from Charlie.”

“You left him alone?”

““Just for a minute. I locked the compartment behind me. He should be fine. Why what’s going on?”

‘We think...

Danny year 6 avie1Dierdre opened the door to the compartment to find Dan and Cissy chatting and laughing. Smirking to herself at the sudden silence that engulfed the cabin, she fixed her cool gaze on Dan. “I’m supposed to remind you that you’d look foolish if you decided not to leave after the train has stopped,” she reported, clearly sharing some of Ambrosia’s amusement at the situation. “You’re free to go.”

Dan sighed and stood. “This trip seemed to go quick.” He smiled at Cissy. “Talk to ye later, okay?”

A chorus of giggles erupted from the assembled girls, but Cissy replied, “That’d be great. Maybe we can go for a flight sometime?”

Danny sputtered something that sounded vaguely positive as he left the compartment. ‘What’m I thinkin’?’Dan wondered. ‘I cannae fly fer nothing! I have t’ do somethin’.’

Hogwarts-CrestShawn sat in a posture that many who knew him would have been shocked to see. Shoulder’s hunched, face pensive, chin in hand and elbows on knees as he seemed to engage Major in a staring contest, he was sunk deep in thought.

“I think you were trying to kill me…”

“You reckon he was just trying to get me to shut up old man?” he asked the owl. Major just glared at him, perched on the armrest of the seat opposite him. “Right, he’s not the sort to go in for shock treatment, so to speak.” He chuckled weakly at his own joke, but it was forced, even to his ears.

“I think you were trying to kill me…”

He felt more than saw Major bristle, puffing up in agitation as his head swiveled to look out the compartment door’s window...

Orlando year 6 avie1“You wouldn’t lie to me would you, Fooze?” Samantha Monkshood had her arm tucked into his and was chugging them along down the narrow aisle of the train.

“Samalander, A kinnae lie to ye, hen.” She was moving with enough speed that when he stopped it almost pulled her back off her feet. MacFoozle took a deep breath and, gripping her square by the shoulders, looked deep into her eyes. They were a soft green, like perfectly worn picnic grass. “Sam…” His voice was tender and sincere.

His nose was so close to hers. Sam swallowed hard, realizing for a moment how dry her throat was.”Yeah?”

“A would totally lie to ye.” He winked and started walking again. “But Ah’mno lying tae ye now.”

Sam’s face tightened up toward her nose...
