AGENTS OF MAGIC – HOGWARTS YEAR 5: FRIENDS AND OTHER STRANGERS 1.22

Rose year 6 avie1When Cassidy finally looked up, he noticed Deirdre sitting across from him. Still a bit flustered, he gave her a silent nod, and received one in return. He’d never really talked to her before, and Cass considered himself quite bad at initiating conversations with new people. So as she turned her attention back to her own world, he did the same, opening Sybil’s cage and giving her a scratch at the back of her neck.

He’d barely closed the cage and turned to face forward again when, like a typhoon of bubbling joy to a placid lake of morose silence, Rose entered the car. Stumbling over the threshold followed Forster, his wrist firmly held, and subsequently tugged, by the enthusiastic Ravenclaw...

Rose year 6 avie1Forster chuckled as they made their way down the aisle. They had already stored their baggage, with the exception of a gift that he had stashed under his robe and Brock, who was happily perched on his shoulder. “Hogwarts must be going to the birds or something. Who in their right minds would have made me a prefect?”

“Mmm-hmm.” The blonde girl at his side paused to let a group of overly excited first-years pass.

“Thanks for the vote of confidence, Ambrosia.” Forster grinned as he realized his friend wasn’t paying attention. “So I hear you’re trying out for Quidditch this year. What are you going to be? A beater?”

“Uh-huh. And did you see the way she threw herself at him?”

Forster rolled his eyes and placed his hand on Rose’s shoulder to snap her into the current conversation...

Tommy year 6 avie1“Mili darling,” Laurenna Sheridan chirped happily as they crossed through the threshold of platform 9 3/4 and saw the Llewelyns in front of them. The two old friends embraced and kissed each other on the cheeks.

“Alcander, old man,” Giles grasped Mr. Sheridan’s hand and shook it happily, “hard to believe it’s another year isn’t it?”

“Isn’t it though Giles my good man. It seems like just yesterday that Rose and Tom were just babies.”

“Hullo Tom, Cissy,” Rose waived happily as she came up to the younger Llewelyns, “look who I ran into on the way over here,” she said as she smiled and waived her hand toward Forster.

“All right, Tom?”

“All right, Forster, you?”

“All right. I saw the score to the Falcons/Cannons game this morning in the Daily Prophet...

Rose year 6 avie1“Dad! Don’t spill my trunk.” Blushing scarlet to the roots of her hair, Ambrosia Sheridan had a sudden horrifying vision of her private things scattering all over King’s Cross station.

“This thing gets heavier every year.” Alcander Sheridan shifted his camera then muscled the trunk onto the trolley. “Are you sure there aren’t a few things you can leave here at home?”

“Dad!” Rose’s further protests were silenced by her mom’s small hand on her shoulder.

“Don’t worry. I made sure your books were well hidden,” Laurenna whispered. “And if you look at the bottom you might even find a new one.”

Beaming, the little blonde wrapped her arms around her mother in an impulsive hug...

Agents of MAGIC – Hogwarts Year 5: Friends and Other Strangers 1.2

Hogwarts-CrestThe Hogwart’s Express pulled from the station, thick smoke rising into the air to mark its passage, a fleeting reminder of its presence that seemed only visible to the wizarding world. Cassidy sat, alone, in the Prefect’s car, feeling the emptiness of that place, sitting in a corner to keep an eye on the flickering lights of the cabin, and wondering what darkness lay beyond the door.

Gathering his courage, Cassidy rose to his feet, and stumbled across the tottering car amidst there-again/gone-again light. After what seemed like a lifetime, his hand pressed against the door, and he pushed it aside. Beyond the door, his senses were assailed by a wave awash on a see of images and time, things in jumbled sense that made none to his darting eyes and grasping ears.

A man lay dead, brutally beate...
