Agents of MAGIC – Hogwarts Year 6: Lines Drawn and Lies Told 3.15

Rose year 6 avie1Danny woke early on Tuesday, well before the sun had come up. On an ordinary day he would still be sprawled under his covers, but today wasn’t an ordinary day. It was Valentines Day, and more importantly it was Ambrosia Sheridan’s birthday. And Danny had a plan.

Quietly he dug into his trunk and pulled out a heart-shaped card. He had been working on this for the last two weeks, and it was time to get things started. He had considered sending Monkey in to deliver the first note, but decided against it. He wanted to do it all himself, and he knew exactly how he would accomplish it.

With a slight twisting shudder, the Ravenclaw’s form morphed into that of a squirrel...

Céilidh year 6 avie1A sour mood gripped the Gryffindor common room. Ever since Tom, Céilidh and Bill returned the night before, it seemed like a squad of dementors had taken up residence in the tower.

“Well the professors were right,” Percy Weasley bounced on the balls of his feet importantly, “you can’t just sneak around this castle in the dead of night and end up breaking an ancient mirror without getting some kind of punishment.” He pushed his horn rimmed glasses up his face.

“Give it a rest Perce,” Bill said as he prodded a pawn to move forward on the chessboard, “I’m sure they feel bad enough already and they don’t need you making him feel worse.”

“I understand they are your friends Bill,” Percy said professorially, “but have you forgotten that Oliver Wood is in the hospital wing right now because of th...

Orlando year 6 avie1“This does not look good.” Bill sighed as he leaned against the fireplace in Professor McGonagall’s office, breaking the almost ten minutes of silence since they entered the room. “What were you three thinking?”

“Not exactly planning this, Bill.” Tom said with his head in his palms.

“Are you sure it was Liam? It was dark in there… could you have been mistaken?” Laun said, still making consistent eye contact with Tom.

“No, it was him.” Tom looked away toward the window. “I know it was.”

“That presents a problem,” Laun sighed, “I was standing closer to him than I am to you now and I am just as sure.”

“Oor wands wis lit.” Orlando wiped his sooty brow with the sleeve of his jumper. It smelled of smoke. “We keeked his face. He drew oan us an ken wha we wis. It wis the lad.”

Or was it? He re ...

Céilidh year 6 avie1“Whaur dae ye reck it gaes?” Lando inquired as she caught up with him.

“Weel…” She looked around, getting her bearings from the way they had come. The tunnel itself had gotten wider and taller since it had become lined with dirt and roots. “A reck we’re…” her lips puckered as if she had been chewing a lemon, “a wee bit intae the ferbiddin forest.”

Not watching where she was going, she ran into the back of the Hufflepuff who had stopped. “Whit?”

“Th’ path forks… ”

He cast lumos to get them a better look. His wand passed between the two options.

“Which wey dae we gae than?”

Foozle scratched at the bit of stubble on his chin. “This wey, ” he replied and went to the right. Hesitating just a moment, his sister followed suit.

They hadn’t gotten far before Céilidh stopped...

Tommy year 6 avie1Liam passed the three sixth years and turned the corner toward the main staircase.

The three gave each other a knowing glance, then immediately followed the Ravenclaw seventh year up the stairs. Lando’s camouflaging charm coupled with Tom’s silencing charm allowed the trio to readily maintain their tail on Liddell. They were able to follow so closely that they nearly ran square into their quarry when he suddenly stopped. Standing before an oddly located mirror, Liddell cast a furtive glance up one end of the hallway and down the other before muttering something.

His words were a sibilant stream that had a collective chilling effect on the three sixth years. The jumble of h and s sounds also had something of a commanding effect as the mirror Liddell faced slowly started to shimmer...

Laun year 6 avie“You know,” Bill said twirling his wand in between his fingers, “I thought this prefect thing would be terrific but these late night patrols really cut into study time.”

“I think they are fun! You get to see the ghosts wafting about and I feel kind of like a junior auror; sleuthing and protecting the general public! I don’t study that much anyways” Laun laughed as he used his dimly lit wand to make designs in the air.

“So is that what you’ve finally decided to do after school?” Bill yawned, “Go into Auror training?”

“I’m not sure yet, I may go into muggle studies actually. That’s something I’ve been thinking about.”

“Yeah?” Bill chuckled. “My dad would love that. He loves anything muggles,” Bill shrugged, “I don’t really get it myself.”

“I think they’re fascinating! You know they have a di...

Hogwarts-Crest“I do apologize Albus,” the Defence Against the Dark Arts teacher inclined his head toward Dumbledore, “I am needed in London all this week in order to give testimony in front of the Wizengamot in the trial of Thaddeus Morquette.”

“Ah yes,” the old wizard nodded gravely, “The so called last Death Eater, or at least if we were to believe the Daily Prophet.” A twinkle came to Dumbledore’s eyes as he smiled. “Which of course, I don’t.”

The African Wizard gave a low guttural laugh. “As you have made abundantly clear In our many, many years of friendship Albus. But my testimony is certainly needed and warranted to determine guilt or innocence, therefore I shall need to be there.”

“Of course, my dear Amen. Jurisprudence must always win the day...

Céilidh year 6 avie1Dawn broke over Gryffindor tower, and particularly the sixth-year girl’s dormitory, entirely too bright and early for at least one occupant. Ceilidh tossed about, trying in vain to go back to sleep. After another half hour of cursing the tiny ray of light that streamed through a chink in her bed curtains, finding her eyes no matter how she tried to avoid it, the redhead finally gave up the ghost and got out of bed.

Finally dressed, the redhead stomped down the stairs and into the common room.

“Morning.” Tom smiled as he looked over an open daily prophet at his girlfriend.

Céilidh grumbled as she slumped into one of the couches. “Coffee afore ah hex ye.”

Tom rolled his eyes and flicked his wand...

Tommy year 6 avie1It was a usual morning weekday morning in the great hall as Tommy and Céildh walked blearily into the Great Hall. Tom stifled a yawn as he and Céilidh sat down at the Gryffindor table.

“You were up late.” Bill said with a laugh. “Long night of studying?” His eyebrow arched suggestively.

“If you must know,” Tom said with sleepy grumble, “We were up late working on some new strategies for our game with Hufflepuff coming up.”

“So that’s what they’re calling it these days.” Bill grinned mischievously until Céilidh’s foot connected with his shin.

“It’s tay early fur ye tae be an arse.” Céilidh snarled as she poured herself a cup of coffee.

“Okay, okay.” The redheaded prefect laughed as he rubbed his shin.

Danny strolled up and dropped into the seat next to Bill...

Laun year 6 avieLaun was feeling pumped, he always did before a match. He had been perusing spell books well into the night in preparation.

He had little else to do these days. His romance with Elizabeth, the muggle girl he had met had fallen apart due to distance, and though he received regular owls from Damien, it wasn’t the same since his only Slytherin buddy had moved and transferred to Durmstrang.

So Dueling club had become Laun’s main source of fun.

As he entered the Slytherin common room though that sense of fun felt perilously close to disappearing. He came upon a huddled mob of his Slytherin “brothers” all looking intense, not quite murderous this time at least though.

“Just the man we were looking to see...
