AGENTS OF MAGIC – HOGWARTS YEAR 5: FRIENDS AND OTHER STRANGERS 1.29

Danny year 6 avie1“Well, that’ over.” Danny sighed and pulled his wand out of his pocket. He began balancing it on his fingertip.

Foozle grinned. “Ye should try on yuir nose,” he suggested.

“I could do that,” Dan replied with mock confidence.

Foozle shook his head. “I dinnae think ye can.”

“Honestly,” Nicolette looked disgustedly at the duo. “Are you two that bored already?”

“Aye!” they replied in unison.

“Well, you could always look over your reading assignments again.”

Lando pretended not to hear Nicolette’s suggestion. “Lait’s gae find th’ tea barrae.”

“Thare’s a thocht,” replied the Ravenclaw. “Mebbes we’ll hae anither megrim yonderaboots.”

The duo stood and marched out of the car. Behind them they heard Nicolette seething, “Why. Can’t. They. Speak. ENGLISH!”

“Where is the trolley?” Danny wondered alou...

Tommy year 6 avie1“I think I might have had a bit too much Pumpkin Juice,” Eric smiled to Belinda.

“Already?! You must have the smallest bladder in the world!” Belinda joked.

Eric smiled back weakly. “I’m just going to run off to the toilet,”

“Back-up?”

“I should be ok.. it’s only to the end of the carriage,” He replied.

“I’ll be keeping an ear out,” Belinda winked.

“Thanks Belle,” Eric smiled and started off down the corridor.

Tom looked at his watch as the Hogwarts Express rattled along the rails, wondering how much longer Rose, Sam and the other prefects would be busy with their briefing for the year ahead. Orlando and Dan were talking with each other about the previous summer while Aeryn and Tom engaged in avid discourse over the Quidditch game from the night before.

“I swear....

Orlando year 6 avie1Foozle watched Céilidh rush down aisle, nearly flooring a pair of little first year students with Wyatt’s carrier. “I dinnae know why she doesn’t juist put a leash on tha thing.”

“What? Wyatt?”

“Aye. He’s more a dug than a cat.” Dan snickered as they slid the car door back open. “Dang near, anywho.” Dan returned to his seat while MacFoozle stayed standing in the open doorway. He smiled down as the two first years continued their exploration of the train. Orlando felt a certain affinity to their curious nature. It was all new to them and they were already going into it head first, not waiting it out nervously in sitting a car. “E’er notice how they be gitten smaller ivery year?”

“I wouldn’t worry too much, Fooze,” Tom said, grinning, “they’ll be taller then you before we know it.”

Foozle p...

Céilidh year 6 avie1“Dang, dang, dang…” Céilidh repeated over and over from the back seat of the cab as it screeched to a stop outside Kings Cross. The car had barely come to a complete stop before she was out the door and pulling on the latch to open the boot.

The driver turned in his seat, “Tha’ll be £10.40, sir.”

Teague MacAllister pulled out his billfold. He’d never really gotten the hang of muggle money, so he pulled scrap of paper with the largest number on it and tossed it to the driver. “Here ye gae,” he said, getting out of the car to help his daughter.

The driver looked at the note, then hollered, “But sir, this is £50!?”

“Ye gat us here on tid. Keep tha change.”

In minutes they had their cart loaded down and were pushing their way through the crowded station...

Tommy year 6 avie1“Mili darling,” Laurenna Sheridan chirped happily as they crossed through the threshold of platform 9 3/4 and saw the Llewelyns in front of them. The two old friends embraced and kissed each other on the cheeks.

“Alcander, old man,” Giles grasped Mr. Sheridan’s hand and shook it happily, “hard to believe it’s another year isn’t it?”

“Isn’t it though Giles my good man. It seems like just yesterday that Rose and Tom were just babies.”

“Hullo Tom, Cissy,” Rose waived happily as she came up to the younger Llewelyns, “look who I ran into on the way over here,” she said as she smiled and waived her hand toward Forster.

“All right, Tom?”

“All right, Forster, you?”

“All right. I saw the score to the Falcons/Cannons game this morning in the Daily Prophet...

Danny year 6 avie1“Oh, ‘at’s horrible, Foozle.” Dan wrinkled his nose at his mate’s comment.

Lando ignored Danny’s remark and asked, “So why dinnae ye go an’ talk to Rose an’ Tom?”

“Oh, you know. Um, Rose’s da, always on about me ‘famous parents’ and what-not.”

Samantha looked slightly confused. “Yeah, what’s that all about? Seems every year I hear him saying something to your parents about the ‘heroic DuMornes’. They do something during the war?”

“Well, yeah, that’s part of it.” He looked away from Foozle. “But there were more heroic people than my folks. No, it’s, um, complicated.” Danny sighed. “It was actually across the pond, b’fore the war ever started. It’s how my parents met, actually… It’s complicated, family stuff. Da doesn’t like talkin’ about it.”

Sam frowned slightly...

Hogwarts-Crest“Hey!” Sam said delightedly, pointing at herself. “Better watch yourself this year, O’Reilly, I’m an authority figure now.”

Shawn smirked, amused. “You’re The Man?”

“Damn right. We’ll be having none of your shenanigans this year,” she said, adopting her best McGonagall voice.

“Shenanigans?” Shawn asked, before turning to Laun. “Is she trying to curse me out in Irish?”

But Sam wasn’t paying attention anymore—she’d spotted Foozle and Dan by the train.

“Listen, I need to load my luggage and I want to say hi to people before I go to the prefect’s car—I’ll meet you there,” she said, dismissing herself before kissing Laun and Shawn each on the cheek and running off, building up momentum before leaping onto her own luggage cart and allowing herself a sho...

Orlando year 6 avie1“Mah…”

“And you’ve got yuir books?”

“Ma. Seriously.” Orlando MacFoozle tightened his grip on the trolley handle and rolled his eyes, a gesture which was not lost on his mother.

“Don’t act like I didn’t see that, young man.”

“A gat all me beuks, kay? A’ve gat iveryhott.” He looked at his mother, and her expression softened on him. It had been years since his dad died, but she still couldn’t help but see the resemblance. AsRhane MacFoozle was a highly skilled Auror, it was the best defensive weapon he had against her, probably the only. “Ye don have to cark, ma. Promise.”

“Wirrie?” His mother’s expression hardened a bit as she fell into her natural tongue. “GIf A git anither houlet from Proffessor Binns, ye’ll be hearing wirds from me, son. An thay winna be coming from Pogo...
