Young Justice 2.0 – A World Without Justice 1.19

bb-av“Not so damn tight!” Redbird winced. “Are you wanting to keep me from breathing?”

Diana secured the flexicast’s lashes tight along the girl’s back. “Will it keep you from talking?”

Redbird smirked as she pulled her top back down, “Funny.” She looked down at the archer’s leg,”You need help with that?”

She stepped back, looking at her thigh. The bandage was soaked a deep crimson with her blood. A sigh fell from her lips, “Nah.” Despite what she said she still cringed a little as she pulled the adhesive loose. Even in the heat of the moment, Redbird had done an exceptional job of removing the arrowhead without exacerbating the damage. “It’s just a flesh wound.”

She sat down, carefully cleaning out wound...

artemis-avThe hum of the Justice League teleport tube echoed through the empty Watchtower. The two young heroes stepped out and surveyed the room.

“We need to find out what’s going on.” Redbird walked up to the computer banks. “Hopefully, I can get in.” The Girl Wonder sat down at the computer and started typing.

The teen huntress leaned over her shoulder for a moment, but following those keystrokes was like reading Kryptonian for Dee. Eventually she stepped back and found her self pacing.

Several minutes passed before the smaller girl slammed her fists against the keyboard. “Damnit!”

Artemis was drawn back to the station. “Problem?”

“It’s no good.” The Scarlet Squire pushed away from the panel. “I can’t get through. The encryption is too tight.”

The Teen Huntress was already on the move...

redbird-avThe young pair of heroes stepped out into the street. It seemed quiet for New York City. Normally, this early in the evening the streets would be bustling with people, but this wasn’t the case. The few people could be spotted hurried to some unknown destination with an almost nervous desperation. It was uncomfortably quiet.

“I dunno, Red…” Artemis pulled her black hood back down. An abandoned newspaper whipped across their path. She watched it go. “I’ve got a bad feeling about this.”

“Me too.” Redbird’s fingers nervously drummed against her thigh. “We have to figure out what happened. Our best option is to get to the tower.”

They cautiously moved down the block.”The Museum?” The archer’s brow furrowed a little in thought.

Years ago, after the Titans had been disbanded to take up th...

redbird-avThe whirl of the blades of the helicopter echoed over the roof of the plaza hotel as Artemis and Redbird busted through the access door.

The Teen Huntress nocked an arrow and fired it at the helicopter, embedding it right next to the doorway.

“You are persistent, little sister,” he yelled out over the whir of the blades. “But I don’t have time to play anymore, so I shall leave you with a gift.” He tossed a black oval a little smaller than a football toward the roof.

Redbird took off like a shot toward the object, baseball sliding to catch it before it landed. A red LED timer flashed through descending numbers. “It’s a bomb!”

“Correction, little bird,” several bodies poured out from the helicopter around the Dark Archer as he tossed two more across the rooftop, “Bombs.”

artemis-avThe air was always harder and colder the further you were from the ground. Several dozen stories up, it pushed hard against Artemis as she leaned over the edge, catching her hood and pushing it back. She hummed a little, looking down at the road below, counting the floors up along the outside of the Plaza Hotel. “Sixty four.”

She continued her counting along the 64th floor from window to window to window, that little idling tune turning into the Beatles’ classic When I’m 64. She reached back, catching the fletching from one of the arrows in the smaller section of her quiver. Her thumb felt the emboss nnock between the little faux feathers. She drew it.

“You know,” the breeze carried a rustling sound to her ear, “I know you bat-types love that sneaky sneaky stuff, but when you grow up w...

Young Justice 2.0 – A World Without Justice 1.1

redbird-av“I will tell you nothing!” The assassin screamed as he dangled upside down from a line hanging off the sixth floor fire escape of Gotham’s police headquarters. The rain pelted the helpless man, as he swung at the whims of the wind that blew threw the alley.

“From this height,” the girl wonder pulled the man close enough so that she could smell the stink of his coffee stained breath. Her voice was so low that it was almost inaudible against the sound of the rain hitting her hood. “I can promise you’ll break a leg at least. Now where is he?”

“You think you scare me, girl?” The man smiled with yellowing teeth. “You’re not the Bat.”

Redbird showed no emotion in her face, she just let go of the line.

The man screamed as he raced toward the pavement face first...
