Vullif sat on the bed, his head against the metal bulkhead, for some time after Bralor left his quarters. His eyes were closed and his breathing slow and regular, but the occasional twitch at the corner of his mouth or lift of an eyebrow belied something going on in his mind.
Eventually, his eyes opened and he moved to his desk, pushing the half-empty bottle aside. Picking up his personal datapad, he checked some news items, then checked through some other encrypted information he had on the device. Satisfied, he stood and pushed the metal chair under the desk, carrying the datapad with him as he pressed the intercom button next to his door.
“Hey, Arden. How long ’til we get to Durga’s interrogation?”
